DIY Halloween souvenirs. DIY Halloween crafts and decorations. # Name plate

Soon we will celebrate the most terrible and, at the same time, the most fun event of the year - All Saints' Day or Halloween. You can read in detail about the origin of this holiday in our article “Halloween or All Saints’ Day: history and traditions”. In the homeland of Halloween - in Ireland, as well as in the USA, where it has gained great popularity, it is not customary to give gifts. There are no established rules in Russia, so don’t miss the opportunity and give your friends and family a pleasant surprise made with your own hands.

Bright pumpkin pillows

Sleep is one of the most pleasant joys of life. And after the Halloween Sabbath, you will definitely need a good night's sleep. And the most pleasant way to do this is on a beautiful pumpkin pillow, which is not at all difficult to create with your own hands.

You will need:

  • textiles (cotton, chintz, linen, etc.) in bright colors;
  • threads;
  • yarn for knitting;
  • padding polyester or other filler;
  • special sewing marker or soap;
  • roulette;
  • scissors;
  • long needle with a large eye;
  • needle or sewing machine.

First you need to prepare a bag base for the future pillow. Cut a rectangular piece of fabric. It is important that the length is twice the width. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, right side inward. Now use soap or a marker to draw lines along which the seam will go. Sew the short line tightly, making a strong knot. But do not make a knot at the end of the seam on one of the long sides. After you finish the seam on this side, pull the fabric together with a tight accordion. Now tie the thread in a knot and make a few more stitches so that the seam does not come apart.

Turn the workpiece right side out. Now it's tight! fill the workpiece with padding polyester. Do not skimp on the filler, otherwise the pillow will turn out very ugly. Even if some of the stuffing peeks out from the workpiece, it’s okay.

Now we need to create a “ball” from our blank. Make a seam on the unsewn side (long) in the same way as you did with the first long side of the workpiece. At the same time, push the padding polyester inside the pillow. If you find it difficult to cope alone, invite an assistant. Don't be afraid to make sloppy stitches and protruding threads - they will all be hidden under the pumpkin stem.

Now it’s time to give our future pillow a beautiful shape. To do this, thread a long needle with knitting thread. The higher the height of the pillow, the longer the needle will be needed. Turn the pillow over and insert a needle into the center of the pillow - where the fabric is gathered. Secure the thread to a knot inside the pillow. Now pull out the thread and pierce the workpiece right through. Pull it well, just be careful not to break the thread. On the reverse side, firmly fasten the thread to the knot, but do not cut it.

Next we will “divide the pumpkin into slices”, so the thread will be visible from the front side. Go back to the bottom edge, pulling the thread taut – it should be impossible to get your finger under it. Pierce the pillow all the way through again and bring the needle out from the top. Do these steps first, dividing the pillow into seven equal slices. At the end, again firmly fasten the thread to the knot and make several “control” stitches.

Now it's the tail's turn. Cut out a pumpkin stem from the fabric, fold it right side inward and sew on three sides. Turn the workpiece inside out and stuff it tightly with padding polyester. After this, sew up the remaining side well so that the filling is not visible. Sew the stem to the pumpkin, trying to keep the stitches as deep as possible - this will make the pumpkin look nice and neat.

That's all, the bright pumpkin pillow is ready!

Mug case “Cute spider”

A mug case is a very romantic gift and, moreover, very useful. After all, Halloween coincides with Samhain, a holiday that the ancient Celts dedicated to the coming of winter. And so that tea or coffee remains hot for a long time in cold weather, let's make such a beautiful “clothes” for the cup. Anyone who has at least basic knitting skills can make such a gift.

You will need:

  • orange cup;
  • black and orange wool yarn;
  • Crochet hook;
  • salty dough;
  • paints of orange, green, black, white;
  • glue gun;
    glue;
  • scissors;
  • sewing centimeter.

First you need to determine which cover needs to be knitted. To do this, take a centimeter and measure the diameter of the mug. After that, start knitting. First you need to knit a piece of black yarn. Based on the size of the mug, draw yourself a pattern according to which you will knit. Don't forget to take into account that you need to leave a “connector” for the handle of the cup. The base for the cover is knitted with single crochets. Tie the cover with orange yarn on top. Do not cut the tails of the orange thread on both sides - you can tie a bunch of black threads to them and make such cute ties on which the case will be attached. The edges of the black base must be sewn together, leaving room for the handle.

And now the most interesting part - we will decorate our case. Decorations are made from salted dough, which can be prepared according to this recipe:

  • 200 g of premium wheat flour;
  • 200 g very finely ground salt;
  • 200 ml water;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of PVA glue.

You need to knead the dough until it is elastic and should not stick to your hands.

Now you can start sculpting. Make figures of a spider, web, pumpkins. One side should be completely flat so that the decorations can easily stick to the case. After this, leave the figures for a week - they should dry well. When our decorations became hard, it was time to paint them. For this it is better to use acrylic paints, but if you don’t have those, then gouache will do. When the paint is dry, use a glue gun to carefully glue the figures with the flat side onto the case.

That's it, the cup can be worn and given as a gift.

Bookmarks for the book “Funny Spiders”

For book lovers, you can give an original and useful thing - a bookmark. It is done very simply. All you need to do is know how to knit a little.

You will need:

  • yarn for knitting;
  • suitable hook;
  • 2 beads;
  • threads;
  • needle;
  • scissors.

You can choose either cotton or wool yarn. If you want to make the spider more terrifying, then give preference to the latter option. You can either separately knit all parts of the spider: the head, the web, the lace that connects the two previous elements, or you can knit the bookmark entirely. After this is done, you need to sew bead eyes on the spider. Choose beads of a color so that they are clearly visible to the yarn from which the spider is knitted.

This is such a cute gift you can give to everyone who loves reading books.

Terrifying magnet "Eye of Dracula"

Want to scare your friends a little? Then you've come to the right place! Prepare a terrifying refrigerator magnet in the shape of the eye of the famous Count Dracula as a gift.

You will need:

  • dense felt in purple and white colors;
  • thin felt in red, blue and black colors;
  • threads to match the color of felt;
  • magnet;
  • regular or hot melt glue;
  • needle;
  • scissors.

First you need to prepare some round shapes, for example, cups of different sizes. With their help, you need to cut out circles from which the eyes will be made. You can also use a compass - draw and cut out circles of the required diameter on thick cardboard and trace them on felt. The circles on felt of each color should be of different sizes: on purple - the largest, white - slightly smaller than orange, red - slightly smaller than white, blue - slightly smaller than red, black - slightly smaller than blue.

When all the preparations are made, we begin to make the eye of the sinister Dracula. Using red thread, sew the red circle in the center of the white one using small stitches. We also embroider the capillary mesh with the same red threads. Sew a blue circle onto the red circle with blue threads. Sew on the pupil in the same way, using black threads. Now we sew all four circles sewn together using white threads to the purple base.

Glue the finished eye onto a magnet using regular or hot melt glue. That's all, the scary gift is ready!

Mummy bottle

How to give wine or any other drink in an original way for Halloween? There is an original idea: make a real mummy out of a bottle!

You will need:

  • bottle;
  • plaster or bandage;
  • eyes for toys;
  • double sided tape;
  • glue gun;
  • hot melt adhesive.

Eat two ways bottle design in this style: you can use either a plaster or a bandage.

The first option is simpler. First you need to glue the eyes using double-sided tape. Eyes can be found in any store that sells craft supplies. After this, the bottle is simply wrapped with the most ordinary plaster.

The mummy can be made a little differently. As in the first option, first glue the eyes using double-sided tape. After this, lubricate the bottle with hot glue from a gun and immediately glue the bandage. Try to lay it out nicely the first time, because you most likely won’t be able to tear off the gauze without damaging it. When you make the second layer, glue must be applied to the first layer of bandage. Press the gauze firmly onto the bottle. Pay special attention to the area around the eyes - here you need to very carefully place the bandage on the glue.

If desired, the mummy can be decorated with various themed accessories - orange and black tags, small witch hats, bats made using the origami technique, etc. Use your imagination here!

Soft pillow-toy “Ghost”

A ghost is one of the symbols of Halloween. So why not please your loved ones with funny toys that can also be used as a pillow. And they are not difficult to make.

You will need:

  • cotton fabric or thin white felt;
  • padding polyester or other stuffing material;
  • paints and brush or thread and needle for embroidery;
  • chalk or special marker;
  • white threads;
  • sewing machine or needle;
  • scissors.

First of all, it should be noted that such a pillow-toy can be made in two ways, depending on how you will decorate the face - using paints or embroidery.

Method one (using paints)

  1. Draw the “body” of the future ghost on the fabric (you can also use templates - you can easily find them on the Internet) in the desired size and carefully cut it out, leaving 0.5-1 cm for the seam.
  2. Fold the fabric so that the right side is on the inside. Sew with white thread using a sewing machine or by hand. Leave a small area unstitched in the tail area for stuffing.
  3. Turn the workpiece inside out and iron it well, paying special attention to the edges.
  4. Now stuff the ghost with stuffing. At the same time, do not spare the padding polyester, otherwise the toy will look thin and ugly.
  5. Carefully sew up the padding with a blind stitch.
  6. Now draw the ghost's face and decorations. As the latter, you can use various Halloween symbols - pumpkins, mice, cats, etc.
  7. Use paints and brushes to color the drawn elements.

When the paints dry, the toy pillow can be beautifully packaged and given as a gift.

Method two (using embroidery)

If you don’t have the opportunity to wait for the paints to dry and you like to embroider, then the second method will suit you.

  1. Follow steps No. 1 and No. 6 described in the first method.
  2. Now embroider the drawn elements with floss threads. Choose the embroidery method to your taste - you can embroider with satin stitch or cross stitch (you can even use beads).
  3. Do steps #2, #3, #4, #5.

That's it, our gift is ready! Now you can scare your friends and acquaintances with such an original toy pillow.

Candlestick with spider

Dip a sponge into yellow paint and paint about a third of the top of the jar. After this, use orange paint to paint the middle of the container in the same way. Paint the bottom brown. Paints should be applied one after another, without waiting for the previous layer to dry.

Now wait until the jar dries thoroughly. Typically this takes about 12 hours.

Take a gold marker and draw a spider web on top. When the jar dries a little again, use a black marker with a beading effect to draw a spider on the web. Leave the jar for another day.

Thanks to the techniques described above, the spider looks very realistic and mysterious in the colors of yellow light.

It’s even easier to make the jar shown on the right in the picture. Instead of paints, it should be decorated with paper cuttings. And it’s not at all difficult to do.

Sweet nuts with predictions

Fortune telling is a mandatory ritual for Halloween. People always want to know their destiny, so by giving a pleasant prediction, you will definitely please your loved ones.

You will need:

  • walnuts;
  • small sweets;
  • yellow/orange and black paint;
  • brush;
  • curly scissors;
  • beautiful paper;
  • pen;
  • glue gun;
  • hot glue;
  • braid/cord.

One of the most unusual holidays in the world is All Saints' Day. And if everyone knows what you can give to your family, friends or colleagues for your birthday, New Year, March 8 or February 23, then the question of what to give your friends and family for Halloween confuses many. But, in fact, there are a lot of such gifts - the main thing is to include imagination and a sense of humor.

Halloween symbolism

Since ancient times, the symbol of Halloween has been a pumpkin, on which a creepy face was carved, designed to ward off evil spirits from the home. So any souvenir in the form of a pumpkin will be just the perfect gift on All Saints' Day. This could be a refrigerator magnet, a keychain, a ceramic pumpkin-shaped candlestick. And the pumpkin itself can be presented as a gift, after first removing all the pulp from it and cutting out two eyes, a triangular nose and a terrifying grin with a knife. And inside this pumpkin you can put a small candle, which can be lit before presenting the gift.

Various evil spirits

When thinking about what to give for Halloween, first of all you need to focus on the holiday itself and what it is associated with. And the first thing that comes to mind when we mention Halloween is all sorts of evil spirits emerging from the afterlife into the world of the living. And if so, then gifts with images of all kinds of evil spirits will be more than relevant. You can give a figurine or doll with the image of a witch, sorceress or vampire. You can also present a toy of a black bat or cat, which are always accompanied by evil spirits. And various keychains, refrigerator magnets, as well as other souvenirs like pens or flashlights made in the shape of evil spirits will definitely awaken that same creepy-fun Halloween mood.

By the way, you can do it yourself using our master class.

Spider and his web

As you brainstorm Halloween gift ideas, think back to what you were most afraid of as a child. And it seems to me that many girls will answer - spiders. So why not play a prank on your friends and colleagues for the holiday of Horror by presenting them with a charming spider, which you can buy at any joke store. Moreover, it is best to give such a gift not in person, but by placing it in a desk drawer or purse; at first such a gift will scare you, but then it will certainly make everyone around you have fun. If you don’t want to scare your friends and colleagues, you can simply give them a set of cups or plates with the image of a black spider weaving a web.

Terrifying Skull

Another creepy symbol of Halloween is the human skull, without which not a single sorcerer or witch can imagine their life. And to present it, it will be enough to look into any souvenir shop where there are mugs, ashtrays, bracelets, cufflinks, brooches, key rings, refrigerator magnets and a lot of other items in the shape of a human skull. So here again, the choice is entirely yours!

Amazingly “scary” T-shirts

When choosing interesting Halloween gifts for friends, don’t think too long, because such a gift can be the most ordinary black T-shirt. The main thing is that on the front of this football there is an image of something related to the holiday. It could be an image of a grinning pumpkin, a charming witch on a broomstick, a creepy wizard with a staff, a bat, a spider with a web, a character from a horror movie, a vampire, a zombie... The list can be simply endless. But the most successful gift will be that T-shirt, which will depict your friend’s favorite hero. He certainly won’t part with such a T-shirt!

By the way, also don’t forget about, because this will create a “terrible” holiday atmosphere.

Creepy "living" toys

Creepy living toys based on the most famous horror films can also be an excellent gift for Halloween. On the eve of the holiday there are simply a whole lot of them in stores. You can buy a bony hand from The Addams Family, which itself will crawl to its future owner. You can find a ghost toy whose eyes begin to glow when you press a button; such a gift should be given in a dimly lit room in order to achieve a greater effect. Or you can find a doll of a witch, a vampire or a skeleton, which has an internal motion sensor, and at the most “inopportune” moment it will suddenly begin to scream in an inhuman voice or make some strange movements. The main thing is not to give such a gift to particularly impressionable young ladies, so as not to unsettle them, otherwise you never know...

Homemade Halloween gifts

And if you are a needlewoman, then you don’t even have to think about what to give for Halloween - with your own hands you can make the best gift in the world for All Saints’ Day, which will make an indelible impression on your loved ones and friends. Lovers of baking all sorts of delicacies can delight others with cookies or gingerbread in the form of holiday symbols. Embroiderers will be able to present to friends and family a pillow with a pumpkin, witch, ghost or bat embroidered on it. Sewing lovers will be able to sew a terrifying voodoo doll, which, of course, will not be made for creepy rituals, but for creepy fun. And fans of scrapbooking will be able to please their friends with an unusually made album with Halloween symbols, which is perfect for the most fun and extraordinary photographs.

You can also make edible gifts with your own hands. A

Halloween, which is celebrated these days, can hardly be called a holiday: few people take it so seriously as to give gifts.

But if you still decide to celebrate Halloween with friends, you should approach this matter with humor.

Whether to give a gift on the occasion of a holiday is up to you. In any case, we will give you some ideas for a presentation.

Finding and buying Halloween gifts is not difficult, but perhaps handmade ones are much more successful.

When is Halloween celebrated?

Since ancient times, the symbol of Halloween has been the pumpkin. A scary face is carved on it, which is supposed to drive away evil spirits from the home. Therefore, any pumpkin souvenir will be an ideal Halloween gift. In honor of All Saints' Day, you can give your friends refrigerator magnets, ceramic candlesticks, and key chains.

The pumpkin itself can become a present if you first remove the pulp from it and cut a pair of eyes, a scary grin and a triangular nose on it with a knife. Place a small candle inside the pumpkin. You can light it before presenting a memorable gift.

Halloween gifts

How to register

Traditionally, residents of Western Europe and the United States do not give gifts on Halloween, with the exception of sweet gifts for children.

People began to give various things on the occasion of this holiday in Russia when Halloween took root in our country. As a rule, gifts are souvenirs and various trinkets with humorous overtones.

Halloween heroes - witches, werewolves, warlocks, ghosts, mummies, voodoo, bats, crows, black cats, spiders and owls. These images, directly related to the world of evil spirits, give many ideas for gifts and their design.

A good gift for Halloween is a pillow with a pumpkin from an embroiderer. There may be other holiday-appropriate images on the pillow: a witch, a spider, a bat, a ghost, a black cat. If you love to sew, then you'll have no problem making a creepy voodoo rag doll that's not meant for ritual, but for fun.

Scrapbooking lovers can make an original album with holiday symbols as a gift for friends. It is like no other suitable for extraordinary “Halloween” photos.

Original ideas for Halloween are just in time right now. The Feast of All Saints is approaching. Here are some interesting and unusual ideas for celebrating Halloween at home.

Cut out silhouettes of monsters, pumpkins, bats, vampires and other wicked things from cardboard. Place these silhouettes on the windows. If you live in a private house, then the effect on guests will be made from the very gate when they see frightening shadows in the window.

Another Halloween trick is to put boots on the legs of a chair and drape it with black material.

Other original ideas for Halloween below.

Another original idea for Halloween is to cut out scary grins and grins on circles of cardboard. And then glue these circles to the flashlight with pieces of tape. If you suddenly turn off the lights and flash a flashlight in the dark, your guests will be alarmed, or maybe they will just laugh heartily.

For those who win the All Saints' Day competitions, I suggest giving yellow balloons, pumpkins, scary treats, or hand-made decorations like this.

Buy lots and lots of pumpkins. Decorate them the way your heart desires. A stylish option is to draw a black silhouette of a tree on several pumpkins placed one above the other on shelves.

How to celebrate Halloween at home

Decorate your room for Halloween by hanging candles from the ceiling of the room. But not just any candles, but large candles in glass spheres placed in old tights. It’s better to let the tights be the same color. Let the candles be placed at different levels: some are almost at the ceiling, while others almost reach the floor. It will turn out unusual and in Halloween style.

Make a scary monster out of white gauze. You will need a balloon, glue and a black marker. Inflate the balloon, Boil the paste: put water on the fire (about half a liter), as soon as the water heats up, add a tablespoon of flour or starch to it. It is better to first dissolve them in a small amount of cold water so that there are no lumps. Mix well and cool the paste. Now dip the gauze into it, cover the balloon with it and let the gauze dry. In a day you will already have an excellent, easy-to-manufacture and practically free cast. You just need to finish drawing his eyes and mouth. Or cut them out of black paper and glue them on.
