Does the Bible teach that women are inferior to men? Was the Apostle Paul a fervent misogynist? And in general, isn’t the Bible a product of a male chauvinistic society? Unfortunately, there is confusion in the minds of men and women regarding the role of women in Christianity. The misapplication of Scripture, as well as the civil movement to liberalize women's rights, has added further confusion to this issue. We want to correct existing misunderstandings about the role of women in the Bible and answer basic questions related to the role of women in God's Kingdom.

God the Father

God honors women. He makes no distinction between men and women regarding their merits. He created both. Both rebelled against His will and on equal terms of repentance and faith, He lovingly accepts both back. Jesus died for all people, and the commandment was given by Jesus to make disciples of both men and women. (Gospel of Mark 16:15). Moreover, God expects complete devotion to Himself from both men and women. God has no favorites (Acts 10:34).

A woman is just as special a part of the world created by God as a man. However, the attitude towards women in history has always been tragic. Hundreds of millions of women are subjected to violence and humiliation. They are shouted at, beaten and intimidated. People usually ask: “Is God a woman or a man?” Interestingly, God has no gender, but on the other hand, the answer may be “Yes!” Genesis 1:27 says: “27. And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them.”

The image of God is reflected in both man and woman! Yes, we are taught to address God as Father, and this is true. But, did you know that our heavenly Father has qualities inherent in a woman and a man? God has everything: love, power, sensitivity, strength, emotion, rationality, caring, determination, tolerance, caring; and it's all balanced. That is why a man and a woman complement each other. God never intended for man and woman to be independent of each other. Moreover, He created them dependent on each other. (1 Corinthians chapter 11). However, neither is a husband without a wife, nor a wife without a husband, in the Lord).

Jesus Christ

No one has done more than Jesus Christ to liberate women. At a time when a woman's status was equal to that of a slave, Jesus established equality between men and women before God. Scripture often says that Jesus interacted with women on the same level as with men. Jesus had intimate relationships with women (John 11:5). Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus). Jesus supported them when others humiliated them (Luke 7:36-50), and taught them personally (Luke 8:3 3. “and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who served Him his estate").

Jesus' ministry was sometimes financed by women (Luke 8:3). After the resurrection, Jesus appeared first to the woman! Jesus did not hesitate to break down racial, gender, and traditional barriers, much to the surprise of his followers (John 4:9, 27). Without diminishing the importance of repentance for women, Jesus strengthened the honor and dignity of women.

About heroes men and women

The Bible has many stories of male heroes, but there are also stories of female heroes. The following names are known from the Old Testament: Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Debra, Ruth, Anna, Esther and many others. In the New Testament we can remember Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene. But there are also even more heroines! For example, the Samaritan woman (John 4). Priscilla (Acts 18), Lydia (Acts 16), and the woman who anointed Jesus with perfume (Mark 14). The Bible writers were not afraid to appreciate women!

Men have a lot to learn!

Some people interpret the Bible to mean that men have nothing to learn from women. Yes, it is true that the New Testament does not allow women to usurp authority over men in teaching and preaching (1 Timothy 2), but that does not mean that men have nothing to learn from women.

For example, in Genesis 21:12, God told Abraham to obey everything Sarah said. Sarah was his wife and in 1 Peter 3 the Lord praises Sarah for submitting to Abraham, but at that moment the Lord told him to listen to his wife! Debra was a judge over Israel (Judges 4-5) and, thanks to her wisdom, many difficult problems were solved (Judges 4:5). Priscilla was a trusted companion to the Apostle Paul (Acts 18) and received praise from the Apostle on several occasions.

Christian chauvinism?

Is it true that women were trampled underfoot in the Bible? Modern Middle Eastern society is very similar to the society in which Jesus lived 2,000 years ago. This is how the Quran writes about the status of women: “Men have power over women because Allah has made one superior to the other, and because they spend all their wealth to support women. Good women are obedient (Sura 4).

Muhammad continues to instruct disobedient wives in the same spirit: they need to be scolded, beaten, and sent to bed! In most mosques, women are hidden “behind the scenes.” “Heaven” in the Islamic religion is a “group of brothers” and few people mention women. This is a demeaning attitude, but it is not an attitude found in the Bible. Women in Jesus' day received more respect if their husbands followed the principles of God's Word.

Subordination

Our society instinctively assumes the authoritarianism of men and the subordination of women. Many people do not like the Bible's teaching on marriage. Marriage is designed by God so that the wife lovingly submits and the husband lovingly leads the family. This is God's plan.

offensive word

The word “submission” has acquired a negative connotation in our society. Men and women do not want to obey, protest is visible everywhere. Students do not respect teachers, citizens of the country despise rulers and police, children do not obey their parents. It is not surprising that a society that emphasizes the importance of self has rejected God's plan for submission in marriage. God never said it was easy to deny and put the needs of others before our own, but He commanded it because He knows that only through self-denial will we experience self-realization (Philippians 2:4-7).

He created us for good works, which can be done through sacrificial love (Ephesians 2:10, 5:1-2). Selfish ambition is listed as a sin (Galatians 5) because it destroys love and relationships. Submission does not imply domination or oppression. The Bible clearly teaches about the abuse of power (Matthew 20:25, Colossians 3:18-19). There are two meanings to the word “submission,” and neither of them goes over well when we hear it for the first time. The first meaning is to willingly put the needs of another (woman or man) above one's own (Ephesians 5:21). The second meaning is to be in voluntary submission to authorities, such as Hebrews 13:17 God says to be subject to the authorities, to the rulers in the church. This also applies to the relationship between husband and wife. The last one is the most difficult for people to understand. Nowadays, society interprets “submission” to a man as recognition of a lower status.

But if you look through the eyes of God, He gives a positive meaning to this word. God, not a man, invented marriage knowing what would work best. He placed subordination in relationships to create order, not to create an inferior position for women. The man did not win his power over his wife, it was given to him by God. Submitting to this authority does not mean that a woman becomes worse in status, just that everyone fulfills their responsibility given by God.

Equality = Equalization?

Does “equality” mean that men and women should be treated with equal respect? Let's take a football team for example: all players are equal, but does that mean we erase the distinction between their roles in the game and allow everyone to be goalkeepers? Or let everyone play where they want! This will not increase your chances of winning. No, teamwork is extremely important and this is possible if everyone performs their assigned roles. “Legalization” would destroy even the hope of victory.

There are several basic differences between men and women (their physical size, strength, voice, ability to bear children, emotionality), but the gender difference is reflected even in the roles that men and women have. We, of course, need to recognize not only the main differences, but also the different roles. Complementing each other is God's plan, especially for marriage. We need to remember that according to the plan, woman and man were not independent of each other.

God teaches that the husband is the spiritual leader of the family (Genesis 3:16). In Ephesians 5:25-33, the Bible tells us “wives be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” On the other hand, husbands are not free to care for, not be lazy, and respect their wives. In fact, God called in Ephesians 5:25 to “Love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave his life for her.” I seriously wonder how many women there would be who would refuse to submit to a sensitive, sacrificial, unselfish spouse.

The difference in roles does not imply a lower or higher position at all. Of course, in some sense we are equal (before God), but equality before God does not imply equalization in the roles for which we were created. Children and parents are equal before God, but who will argue that what a 3-year-old child says is not equal to what a 30-year-old parent thinks. The leader is the parent. And the Bible teaches that men and women are equal (Galatians 3:28), but this does not erase the differences in the roles of men and women.

"Misogynist" Pavel

There is an opinion, based on several passages, that Paul was a misogynist. But as we search the Scriptures, we see that he thanked and admired women in every letter to every church he addressed:

  • Rome: Romans 16, warm feelings for female friends and fellow laborers.
  • Corinth: 1 Corinthians 11:4 allows women to pray in church, 1 Corinthians 9:5 says apostles have the right to marry.
  • Galatia. Equality of all believers (Galatians 3:28).
  • Philippi. Paul encourages men to support women's leadership in the church (Philippians 4:3).
  • Colossians: (Ephesians 5) love wives, Colossians 3:19 encourages husbands to love their wives and not be harsh with them.
  • Thessalonians: Paul encourages Christians to respect all who work hard in the church—not just men (1 Thessalonians 5:12).
  • Ephesus and Crete: When Paul writes to male leaders, he fully supports women's ministry. Women are expected to be as loyal as men (Titus 2:3-5), but must still be treated sensitively and with respect (1 Timothy 5:2). Paul says that the highest positions in the local churches should belong to married men who have been able to raise obedient children. (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1)!
  • And also remember the Greek women of honor who believed and followed Paul (Acts 16:13-14, 17:4, 17:12, 17:34). They were not offended by the “misogynist”, but rather, they accepted him and his message.

Now consider the “problematic” passages: 1 Corinthians 14:34, which is interpreted as “women should remain completely silent in the assembly.”

The situation in 1 Corinthians chapter 14 was that women were disgracing their husbands by arguing with him about the interpretation of prophecies. Paul encourages them to discuss this not in the congregation, but at home with their husbands. As early as chapter 11, Paul does not object to women praying and speaking in services.

1 Timothy 2:11 teaches the same principle, although verse 12 deserves comment (I do not allow a woman to teach....) As we saw earlier, Paul does not command the woman to remain completely silent. And he says this not because the man is superior to the woman in position. He simply upholds the basic principle of the entire Bible: a man leads the church spiritually.

Someone said about women: “Women are capable of everything, men are capable of everything else.”

The women we see biblically portrayed in Scripture are not distinguished from each other by their social status. Not that one was rich, like the Queen of Sheba, and the other poor, like the widow in the days of Jesus, or that one was at the head of society, like Deborah, and the other was neglected, like the Samaritan woman. The secret of their happiness did not lie in whether they were married, had children, or were childless.

The significant difference between these daughters of Eve is whether they knew God or not. Each of them faces the question: “What place does the Lord occupy in your life?” On the answer to this question depends her happiness, her usefulness and the motives that set her life in motion.

EVE is the mother of all living. She has everything a person could wish for. Unfortunately, she enters into a conversation with Satan. She not only listens to him, but also answers him. And this is the beginning of her fall...

DEBORAH is a prophetess and judge of the people of Israel. Men at that time, as a rule, did not submit to women. This woman not only had a calling to serve her people, but also recognition from her people. People loved her, consulted with her, allowed her to judge them, because they trusted the laws of God that she preached. She was a humble servant of God and an obedient wife to her husband.

NAHOMIN is a woman who chose the path of self-willed actions in her life. Leaving their homeland, forgetting the living God, the family went to seek happiness in a foreign land. God led Naomi through testing paths. Having lost her husband and sons, she begins to cry out to God and allows Him to act in her heart with the Holy Spirit. Naomi, through her prayers, achieved a glorious goal and found everything she dreamed of: a loving family, a devoted daughter-in-law. Her image in the Bible is an example of a virtuous mother-in-law.

ANNA – childless Anna prays for her son, promising to dedicate him to the Lord. She firmly knows that only God can understand and help her. In prayer, Anna learns that the person who gives everything to God receives back more than he gave. The Lord subsequently gives her five more children.

MELCHAL is a woman who did not appreciate her husband, King David, who sincerely loved God. God punished her with childlessness, David left her. The remarriage did not bring happiness. A wife should not judge her husband.

ESTHER is a girl from the Jewish family who became the queen of Persia and saved her people from death. With her selfless determination and wise ingenuity, risking her own life, she prevents the plan of the insidious courtier. Her life is an example of obedience to God in all circumstances. The reward for this is the well-being of not only herself, but also her people.

MARY is the most blessed among wives. Every woman in Judea dreamed of becoming the mother of the long-awaited Messiah. The Lord chose Mary, a humble and God-fearing girl. Mary is for us an example of complete obedience and trust in God.

ANNA is a woman who did not die of a broken heart. Anna is eighty-four years old. She is a widow. Her marital bliss lasted only seven years. Prayer and fasting are her life. Anna is for us an example of a life dedicated to God in any circumstances.

MARY MAGDALENE was a sinner who had many vices. She, among others, believed Jesus and became His faithful follower. Magdalene is an example of how God can change the life of any sinner.

THE POOR WIDOW is a woman whose sacrifice has gone down in history. The poor widow gave her last money for God. She understood well that if money is dedicated to God, then it becomes capital in heaven. The poor widow is an example of sacrifice and trust in God.

LYDIA is a famous woman in her city. She has her own enterprise, and her business is going well. The Word of God preached by Paul falls into Lydia's heart on fertile soil. She becomes a Christian and devotes herself and her service to Christ. Lydia is an example for business women. You can serve Jesus Christ anywhere...

In one article it is impossible to count all the women who have become heroes of faith for us. But we must remember: Sarah, who became the foremother of the Israeli people; the sisters Rachel and Leah, from whom were born all the tribes of Israel; the Queen of Sheba, who came many, many miles away to learn about God's wisdom with King Solomon; the pagan and harlot Rahab, who saved the people of Israel and became the great-great-grandmother of Jesus Christ; the widow from Zarephath of Sidon, who received a blessing from God; Mary of Bethany, who chose the good news over the cares of this world, and her sister Martha, who cared too much about many things; Tabitha, who, out of love for God, used all her opportunities; Priscilla, who became a faithful helper to her husband, the apostles and disciples of Christ in preaching the Gospel, and many others whom God introduced into biblical history as an example for edification.

You and I, dear readers, live at the same time, but we all have different living conditions, different occupations, and occupy different positions in society. But only one thing is important for God - our heart and our faith in Him. If He occupies the right place in our life, then it becomes especially interesting and useful both for God and for society. But if He is absent from life or does not occupy the place that should rightfully belong to Him, then life will be aimless and without hope for the future.

My article is dedicated to women in honor of March 8, International Women's Day, but the male half of humanity can also read it. We men want to express our respect and gratitude to the women in our lives: wives, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, colleagues, and former teachers. We are grateful for what they mean to us and to our community as a whole.

When we think about the extent to which women influence society, we can think of many different names. Today I want to invite us to look at the role of women in the Bible.

There are 188 women named in the Bible. Some of them are mentioned briefly, while others have entire books of the Bible named after them: Ruth and Esther.

When I spoke to my wife, she could only remember three names: Ruth, Esther and Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

The book of Ruth describes how this woman, along with her mother-in-law Naomi, dealt with the death of her husband. My study Bible mentions “God’s highest purpose, which is realized through all the joys and sorrows of life.” It also says, “Hunger, death, loneliness, self-imposed exile, and unshakable confidence can all bring about the fulfillment of God’s true purpose.”

From the book of Esther we learn how this woman, raised as an orphan by her uncle in a foreign country (Persia), eventually becomes a queen. She did not forget her origin, and thanks to her actions, many people in this distant country were saved from destruction. Now, as we read about those distant events, it is useful to ask ourselves the questions used in inductive Bible study: What is this text about? What does it mean? What does it mean to me personally?

In the New Testament we meet Mary, whose youth and humble position in society did not prevent God from using her for a great purpose. Jesus, her firstborn, gave salvation to us all.

We are inspired by the idea that no matter our place in life or society, we can make a positive impact on the world if we trust in the Lord and follow His special plan for our lives.

Let's look at how Jesus interacted with women and what role they played in His ministry. If we examine how Christ treated women during his earthly ministry, we see several very new and varied innovations. In Luke 8:1-3 we read that Jesus was accompanied by twelve disciples, as well as some women who, using their own resources, ministered to Jesus and the disciples. This was a striking change from the customs of the time.

In Luke 23:50-24:12 we read that the women were the first to find the stone rolled away from the tomb. They returned and told the eleven and the others about it, thus becoming the first to proclaim the news of the resurrection.

I suggest you read about a few more events from the Gospels that describe how Christ changed the established rules. The conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well did not correspond to the accepted norms of that time. See John 4:7-38.

Martha and her sister Mary were very different. When Martha complained that Mary was not doing her part in preparing food for the guests, Christ approved of Mary's action and pointed out what is truly important in life. See Luke 10:38-42.

In Luke 7:36-50 we see one of the wonderful examples in the ministry of Christ. When the Pharisees reproached Jesus for talking to a sinner, Christ told them a parable about a moneylender. This story teaches us compassion and forgiveness, awareness of our guilt and repentance - this is what the Pharisees needed to hear.

Before his death, Christ sees several women standing nearby. Among them is Maria. Expressing His care and love for his mother, He asks His disciple John to take care of her as if he were his own mother. See John 19:25-27.

There are many examples of women in the Gospel, and a lot can be said about this. Without a doubt, Jesus raised the status of women by the way he treated them and accepted their help in His ministry. Our society values and utilizes the contributions of women. Whether some admit it or not, Bible principles have a powerful influence on our society.

Dear women, may the blessings of our Lord abundantly fill your life!

“And man was not created for wife, but woman for man.”
(1 Cor. 11:9)
“And the Lord God said: It is not good for man to be alone; Let us make him a helper suitable for him.”
(Gen.2:18)

The purpose of the creation of woman is very clearly defined in Scripture.
God created Eve, seeing that Adam was feeling bad alone, without a helper corresponding to him.
The word “helper”, used as a characteristic of a woman, is used 19 more times in the Old Testament and 17 of them as the help of God, the help of the Holy Spirit.
That is, the role of a man’s assistant is an important and responsible role. This is help that is simply impossible to do without, wise, gentle, devoid of control.

God literally took the woman out of Adam, which is why we are so different. Man and woman reflect different facets of God's image -

Qualities of God revealed in a man:
Strength, Power, He is formidable, He is a judge, a Protector.

Qualities of God revealed in a woman:
He is the Merciful, the Compassionate, the Comforter, the Beautiful.

Jesus lifted up a woman, the women surrounded Him and ministered to Him. He showed the equal value of the soul of a man and a woman before God.

A man and a woman's relationship, which is in harmony, demonstrates the great perfection of God's plan.
Therefore, the enemy tries in every possible way to humiliate a woman or give her a position that is unusual for her.

The helping spirit that is given to a woman, like the Holy Spirit, is easy to extinguish. He will not impose himself, and the man will be left without the necessary support.
On the other hand, the enemy tempts the woman to usurp the man's role as a responsible leader.

“He said to the woman, “By multiplying I will multiply your sorrow in your pregnancy; in illness you will give birth to children; and your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” (Gen. 3:16)

"desire" for the husband is translated as an aggressive desire to resist the headship of Adam.
Women need to be very careful not to miss this attack.

The enemy has always tried to separate man and woman, to deprive a man of female support, without which he cannot fulfill his destiny. In the past, the female essence was humiliated to the status of a “second-class citizen.” But Jesus raised the woman with his love and forgiveness. In the modern world, they are trying to force a woman into a field of play that is unusual for her, where she loses in any case. Even having achieved visible forms of success, a woman remains unhappy if her beauty and femininity remain unappreciated and undiscovered.

Girls are not taught to be beautiful and feminine; at school and college, male criteria for success are imposed on them:

*you can,

*you will reach

*you will conquer.

And as a result, having become a mother and sitting with the child, experiencing the most wonderful time, a woman begins to feel emptiness, it seems to her that life is passing by.

And femininity is rarely created in the family:
Fathers do not admire their beauty.
Mothers compete with teenagers.
Girls see in the family an example of a strong mother who suppresses her husband.

Very often, a woman takes the place of a man in the home and in society. She takes upon herself, unusual for a woman, the responsibility of a protector, head of the house and responsible leader and, as a result, becomes hysterical, tense and unhappy, loses her beauty, her purpose.
A man loses the meaning of his existence, surrounded by women who can do without him and who do not need salvation.

The calling of a woman in God: to help with her Beauty

When I say beauty here, I mean both inner and outer beauty.
The true beauty of a Woman can be fully revealed only in God.
But it is a woman’s responsibility to look after her heart and external beauty.

Beauty beckons and attracts. The beauty of God’s woman seems to invite: “taste and know how good the Lord is”
“Everything will be fine,” this is the message coming from a woman who is in God’s love and peace.

There are two characters in parables: Lady “Foolishness” and Lady “Wisdom”
A controlling woman calls for taking control of the whole world. Her heart, full of fear, spreads fear.
A woman full of God's peace invites you to rest and trust in God. She does not need to defend herself, she trusts God and with an open heart invites her to fellowship with Christ.
This woman in God-given beauty invites us to know God, through communication with her we touch His mercy, tenderness and kindness, His Beauty.
A woman reveals beauty by offering her company, presence, not activity.

Every woman is endowed with captivating beauty. But the beauty of many women is desecrated. The devil hates and envies our beauty, he has been trying to destroy it since childhood.

Love resurrects beauty. God wants to give us this kind of love. The source of our beauty and harmony is in God's boundless love.

Our calling as women is to shine our beauty into this world, bringing the message of God's peace and love even without words. That’s why it’s so important to open your heart to God and let Him heal it, because “You can’t shine when your heart is broken.”

You can reveal beauty only by opening your heart.
We need faith - trust in God that he created us beautiful.
Hope - we are not yet what we should be, but He will complete what He started.
Love - we stop focusing on self-defense and turn our attention to the hearts of others.

We offer our beauty so that the hearts of those around us can come to life, heal and know God.

Women in Scripture reflect God's beauty.
Esther, who won the most important beauty contest of her generation, shows us the beauty of trust in God, obedience to a mentor and self-sacrifice for our neighbors.

“And Esther answered Mordecai: 16 Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for my sake, and do not eat or drink for three days, day or night, and I and my maidservants will also fast and then go to the king, although this is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:15-16

And Sarah, Abraham’s faithful companion, who shared his unconditional faith and wanderings, and Rebekah, who went to a foreign country to support Isaac.
And Ruth is a Moabite woman who followed Naomi out of love for her mother-in-law, who had no one close to her.
All these are examples of self-sacrifice and mercy, demonstrating the true beauty of a woman’s heart. And we cannot imagine any of these beautiful women as unkempt and ugly. The outer beauty of a woman is also a gift from God to the world, just like the beauty of her heart.

In Scripture we meet the image of a woman - the prophetess Deborah, a woman who inspires us to follow God to the end and fight for our people.
Deborah's story is a bit of a sad story. Army General Varak is afraid to go into battle and she has to go with him, encouraging him with her presence and faith. Sometimes women have to step into gaps that men don’t step into. But this is not her Divine calling.

The woman of the Bible is an inspirer and comforter, whose deep faith and trust in God gives room for God to manifest himself on earth.

The image of an ideal woman is Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“The angel came to Her and said: Rejoice, full of grace! The Lord is with You; Blessed are you among women" Luke 1:28.

Mary was chosen by God to become the Mother of our Lord.
BUT she could have refused! FAITH, Mary knew God and loved Him, she trusted God - and this opened the way for the birth of Christ.
A woman's faith always gives birth to true life around her.

Let's imagine: a young girl becomes pregnant out of wedlock. Can you imagine how tragic this was in that society? The horror of this situation is not comparable to how it is perceived today, although in the families of even non-believers people clutch their heads in such situations.
She was in real danger of being thrown out by her husband, to whom she was only engaged, and stoned. What happens next? Traveling in the last month of pregnancy across the country, they wandered from hotel to hotel. All exhausted, she gives birth to a child in a barn. Then, with his little son, he immigrates to Egypt. Did Maria have a reason to be dissatisfied with life?!

God has different ideas about happiness. They do not fit in with our ideas about simple human happiness. And this is a problem because the journey that God takes us on is a journey beyond. There is a conflict within us between our understanding of simple human happiness and what God thinks about it. Because “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways...”
What did she feel, what did she think when her beloved Son was crucified before her eyes?
Sacrifice.

This sacrifice on the cross was her calling.

Inspiration:
Mary says to Jesus: “they didn’t have enough wine at the wedding, help these people” - she inspires God to start working His miracles!
The compassion and prayer of women still encourage God to work miracles.

Scripture is the best book in the world. This is not a book, this is a picture that opens before us. I imagine: Jesus Christ is born, and all heaven is looking there, the attention of the whole universe is on a wretched cave, a refuge for shepherds and sheep. Can we accommodate this Miracle - Mary with the Gift of God in her arms! God entrusted her with the soul of Christ. What does this mean in the universe? What honor and glory, what a crown! “Rejoice, full of grace!” - says Scripture.

We all want happiness, but not everyone wants to pay for it.

Mary raised Jesus - children are souls entrusted to us by the Lord. She waited, she wanted, she knew that He could change everything!
Mary BELIEVED in the destiny of Her Son and kept it in her heart. Her faith helped her survive the crucifixion of Christ, and She saw Him risen. She saw how the Church of God rose, how the Holy Spirit descended, how thousands were baptized.

She triumphed in Christ, Her life was wonderful! Her beauty, saving the world, still shines for us now.
